This collector scarf is not just double sided but also double functional, the pattern in the first side is a new type of digital camouflage developed by “Hyphen Lab” and aims to hide the wearers from facial recognition of surveillance cameras by providing several distorted fake faces that distract the computer vision algorithms and preventing it from finding the wearer’s real face and this is to fight against mass surveillance and violation of privacy with style while staying warm.

The other side of the scarf is designed in a way that the typography of “Off the grid” is readable both backwards and forwards this calligraphic technique is called “Ambigram” makes the scarf invertible, it was used in this context to refer to the culture of the Ultra’ movement that gives a sacred and precious character to the scarves and considers an inverted scarf as an infringement of the honor of the group and the member owning the scarf.

Clothing has always been a method to protect ourselves against the possible threats of the biosphere, like the cold or extreme heat. “Off the grid” can do both and still protect you from the mass surveillance systems.
